Here, in Sharon, Connecticut, two large White Oak trees stood on a hill creating a beautiful vista known as the Twin Oaks. During a storm a few years ago one of the trees came down. Not more than a month later the other tree died. Can a tree die of a broken heart? It's safe to say all of us in the area were deeply saddened to see these two beauties gone. But, a few local artisans were offered the wood- including Daniel. Now the trees live on in the Twin Oaks Tables. He has left the natural cracks in the wood and reinforced them with handmade copper staples. The legs are steam bent. Finished in Tung oil and natural beeswax. The tables are sold separately but were designed to be able to nest if desired. Signed and dated 2014.
