The MEND Collection
Sometimes the kiln has the last word. When just the right crack appears, we don’t discard the piece, we honor it. Each MEND work is repaired by hand with our signature copper staples, tiny hand-hammered stitches that close the fault line with a touch of bling. What might have been waste becomes a one-of-a-kind object. Perfectly imperfect, and all the more beloved.

The Piece

Here by popular demand, we created a piece that works as both a plate and bowl. Made with the same rustic beauty of our deeper bowls, these versatile new porcelain pasta bowls are meant to use everyday. They have a low profile with sides just high enough to serve a beautiful bowl of pasta without losing any sauce. Our bowls will stack nicely on top to create an elegant, perfectly imperfect place setting.

Always inspired by nature, I sculpted the original bowl in solid clay, layering thin strips of porcelain and smoothing to create a stone like feel. Plaster molds were made from these pieces. We cast each piece in porcelain, carefully finish the rims, then glaze them in our new layered glazes that give them extra beauty and unique character.

The Collection

Wabi celebrates the beauty of the hand. Each form begins as a sculpted original, built from thin layers of porcelain and smoothed to a stone-like feel, then cast in porcelain and finished one at a time. Gentle profiles, softly irregular rims, and layered glazes create a quiet, tactile presence that feels both relaxed and refined.

The Glaze

Our Granite glaze layers deep mussel tones with soft swirls of Snowflake white, creating a surface that shifts from smoky blue-black to pale, stony gray. The two glazes move together in the kiln, forming organic drips and fluid variations reminiscent of polished granite. Each piece emerges with its own natural pattern—smooth, luminous, and quietly dramatic. No two are ever the same.

Timing & Delivery

This piece is part of a small collection of ready-to-ship pieces. Please allow 2-3 business days for packaging.

Made By Hand

Each piece is made to order in our Connecticut studio, one by one. Subtle variations in size, color, and shape are part of what make them special—no two are exactly alike. You may notice small imperfections—what we like to call perfectly imperfect.

Crafted For Everyday Luxury

We work with durable, high-fire porcelain and glaze each piece by hand at over 2200 degrees. Our glazes are food-safe, lead-free, and dishwasher friendly (unless noted above). Whether it’s a morning coffee or a long, candlelit dinner, our ceramics are made to be lived with—every day.

Our ceramics are handcrafted from high-quality, durable porcelain. All glazes are food safe and lead free.

Unless otherwise noted, our porcelain pieces are dishwasher and oven safe. (For example, pieces with our bronze glaze should not be used in the microwave—this will always be specified in the product description.)

While dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing to help extend the life of your pottery.

To remove dirt, stains, or silverware marks—especially on matte or semi-matte glazes—use Bar Keeper’s Friend, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or a paste of baking soda and warm water.

Our tableware can be warmed in the oven, but avoid sudden temperature changes. Please don’t transfer pieces directly from the freezer to a hot oven or from the oven into the fridge. Gradual temperature shifts are best.

Do not place ceramic pieces over an open flame.
