Handmade Heritage Cheese Knives

Regular price$ 80

Stylishly simple and handcrafted in the USA. Inspired by the utilitarian and elegant tradition of historical New England pewter, we chose these cheese knives hand crafted by our friends Beehive Handmade.  They are sure to become modern heirlooms. The satin-luster pewter handles have a perfect weight, and balance beautifully with the superlative quality stainless blades made for them in Sheffield England. Both knives are truly lovely objects to use and own for a lifetime of gatherings. Choose Spreader for soft cheeses and butter, or knife with prong end for picking up cut pieces. Or the get the pair!

"I fell in love with these knives the minute I used them.  They feel so good in the hand and have such a elegant aesthetic. They can be dressed up or down.  Add one of our Cheeseboards or Charcuteries for a perfect combo. PS the spreader is just right for butter as well." - Dana

Spreader is 5.625" x .825".

Cheese Knife is 8.25" x .875".

Handmade in Rhode Island and Sheffield, UK.

Care instructions for pewter: Please handwash and dry. Original lustre may be restored with extra fine steel wool.

Our ceramics are handcrafted from durable, high quality porcelain. Our glazes are food safe and lead free. Our porcelain pieces are dishwasher and safe except where noted in their descriptions. For example, our bronze glaze should not be put in the microwave and this is noted in product descriptions of bronze glazed items. Although all of our pieces are dishwasher safe, hand washing will prolong the life cycle of your pottery. Dirt, stains, and metal marks from silverware (due to the ceramic being harder than the metal) particularly on our matte and semi-matte glazes, can be removed with Bar Keeper’s Friend, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or baking soda mixed with a bit of warm water. Our tableware can be warmed in the oven but do not expose the wares to dramatic shifts in temperature – e.g. do not put hot from the oven pieces into the refrigerator or from the freezer into a hot oven- allow for gradual change in temperature. Do not place over an open flame.
